Looking Back...

Happy New Year everybody!!

I'm ashamed of myself for abandoning this blog for almost 6 months!! I deserve the Lousiest Blogger award for the year...

I gotta say a lot has been going on during the past 6 months...and I mean A LOT! I'll go through some of the major changes I have gone, and still going through in later posts.

In Dec I tend, like most people, to reflect on the year that is just about to end. This time, while looking back, I decided I should list down every major and minor achievement that I made during 2010. I just wanted to know if I was actually making any progress in life, whether the year has passed me by while I was sleeping, or did I spend it simply watching the world go by!

And to my surprise, quite a lot has been happening in 2010. Going through the list I wrote down I said to myself "Gosh! I'm alive!"...Yes! I am pretty much alive, taking on whatever comes my way, open to every opportunity, learning as I go and hungry for more! I made plenty of mistakes but boy did I learn a dozen lessons every step of the way! I have yet to overcome many of my limitations, break my mental barriers, and face many of my fears..but hey, I'm already on track and I'm thrilled about it.

Here's some of what 2010 had to offer me:

• Performed my first Umrah and never felt better!

• Traveled to Europe with my parents and sis for the first time. Something I've been wanting to do for a while.

• Started working on my Photography website which should be out soon!

• Started my travel business and now having a partner. Working on our website that should be launched this month.

• Bought a new lens for my cam

• Made substantial progress in my photography style - or so I'm told!

• Moved out to live on my own for the first time in 29 years.

• Moved to live and work in Cairo, Egypt.

• Found a job!

• Been into depression, almost hitting rock bottom - a phase I hope I never go through again ever! Gave me a glimpse of my darker side.

• Fell in love and loved every bit of it (we're not together anymore)

• Had my first corporate client (photography)

• Helped some friends make their first Euro trip :)

And I'm sure there's much more that I'm unable to recall now. All I know is that something has been going on for me and that the best is yet to come. I'm open to whatever comes my way in 2011. I just need to make the best of everything I have, cherish those precious moments with the ones I love, and be grateful for every blessing.
